Sanguis Lunae

Blood of the Moon Acetum.

A deep crimson botanical vinegar built upon the vivid acidity of hibiscus and the dark tannins of chokeberry, supported by pomegranate and a whisper of citrus peel. The infusion yields a wine-like acetum rich in anthocyanins and fruit acids. In the older traditions of herbal practice, dark berries and red flowers were frequently associated with the vitality of the blood and circulation, their intense pigments seen as both symbolic and medicinal expressions of vitality.

Historical note
Fruit and flower vinegars appear repeatedly in classical sources. Pedanius Dioscorides describes medicinal vinegars prepared with fruits and flowers in De Materia Medica (1st century CE), while later medieval herbals expanded these preparations into tonics and syrups.
